Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners. It's still a great deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or in school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming this feature, which hasn't been seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our tests. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads). It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. If you're willing to live with a little more noise and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone. 4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads. The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as a bin for emptying.
